These pieces are a great example of the subtle changes that can take place between the prelim and the final drawing.  You may notice that the layout on the 2nd prelim is a mirror image of the end result...as is the light text layout visible on the sketch paper.  It looks like James intentionally did everything backwards and flipped it as he went to the final drawing. 

Final prelim is 8.5" x 11", graphite on bond, final drawing is 11" x 17", graphite and ink on Bristol.
