One of JJ's tighest prelims, the sketch could easily be mistaken for the final drawing.

James' comments, from Wizard magazine #171 (January, 2006):

"I had always wanted to do something with an exploding diagram [from technical illustrations], and this was my chance.  Plus, I had already done a series of illustrations based on my experiences in middle school, so Machine Teen was the next logical step."
